We then walked up to Palatine Hill. Most European languages derive their word for palace from the name of this hill.
It was important in the early history of Rome, first as its birthplace then as the home of its leaders and their rich homes.
It is so beautiful here. Sunny warm and 70 degree spring weather! Perfect. It was very pretty and peaceful on the Hill and the birds were all singing!
